The quarterbacks are getting paid this offseason, folks. Remember when everyone was up in arms when the NY Giants signed Daniel Jones to his four-year deal worth $160 million? Well, people haven't stopped bashing general manager Joe Schoen for that decision.

However, with the way things were structured, coupled with the way the QB market has been set, Schoen worked his magic in getting things done. Need further proof of that? The Eagles just signed Jalen Hurts to a massive contract - five years and $255 million to be exact. So, about $95 million more than Jones. Goodness.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts just landed his massive payday from Howie Roseman

Let us start off by saying we're not implying in any way shape or form that Hurts didn't deserve his extension from the Eagles. He was clearly the best quarterback in the NFC last season, and if it wasn't for Patrick Mahomes, Hurts would have been your 2022 MVP.

What we ARE saying, though, is that his contract makes the Jones' one look even better for the Giants and Schoen. At the end of the day, Jones only has $82 million of his $160 million guaranteed. Hurts has nearly $180 million guaranteed. That's a huge chunk of change.

Schoen and head man Brian Daboll have all the belief in the world in Jones, but they can essentially move on from Danny Dimes after the 2024 campaign if they decide they want to go in a different direction. Let's hope things don't come down to that, though.

Hurts earned his bag, and Jones did as well. Luckily, these two will be able to treat us to some fantastic NFC East showdowns for years to come. Let's keep our fingers crossed that some Big Blue wins will be on the way for Jones and Co. over the very rich Hurts.
