The New York Giants are looking for much better results this season after another losing campaign in 2023. Last year, NY went 6-11 and missed the playoffs after appearing in the postseason in 2022 and winning a playoff game. Despite seeing star running back Saquon Barkley leave for the Philadelphia Eagles, this offseason also saw Big Blue making a huge trade to bolster up their defense.

The Giants went out and acquired two-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher Brian Burns from the Carolina Panthers and quickly got things done with him on a massive five-year contract worth $141 million. So, the Giants now having Burns on their roster could be pretty scary for opposing linemen. You know who's fired up about his arrival to East Rutherford? Kayvon Thibodeaux.

The Giants' 2022 No. 5 overall pick spoke with Steve Serby of the New York Post and he is pumped to see what the two can do this season and beyond. Thibodeaux also talked about how Burns has been pushing and motivating him to be a better player.

"He challenges me. When you’re talking about having somebody who’s similar body types, similar mindsets that has reached a higher level of greatness than I have, it’s nothing but motivation, it’s constant work whether we’re watching film with each other, whether we’re talking ball or whether we’re on the field getting pass rush in, and seeing how he does things and how I can implement it in my game and then there’s certain things that I do differently that he can implement in his game."

Thibodeaux is coming off a great season in 2023 for the G-Men. It was a down year for New York as a whole, but Thibodeaux posted 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. This came after he ended his rookie campaign with only four sacks in '22.

With the addition of Burns to play with Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawerence as well, there's plenty to look forward to for the Giants defense, as Big Blue looks to make it back to the playoffs in a tough NFC East. Thibodeaux's take about the Giants' new outside linebacker certainly has people excited about what's to come. These two could prove to be one of the best pass-rush duos in the game.
