We quite honestly didn't see this coming. Throughout the spring and summer, countless haters have been ripping the NY Giants and Daniel Jones for the $160 million deal the two sides ended up agreeing to.

For a lot of people, giving Jones his mega-deal and placing Saquon Barkley on the franchise tag was a monster mistake. It turns out former All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell is on the list, as he didn't hold back in torching Daniel Jones while on the AP Pro Football podcast:

Le'Veon Bell claims that Daniel Jones is a bottom-tier quarterback

Bell said he wasn't trying to talk bad about Jones, as he went on to bash him in head-turning fashion. Come on, Le'Veon. Bell was clearly just trying to bring down Jones to prove his point on how Barkley should have been paid, but there's no way Danny Dimes deserves this kind of hate.

Yes, his four-year contract opened up plenty of eyes and there's going to be pressure on him to deliver. However, to say he's among the worst quarterbacks in the league just doesn't sit well with us. Now that he's working under Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka, Jones is looking like a new man.

Not only that, but he finally has some quality weapons to throw to this season and beyond. The Giants were able to bring in Darren Waller and Parris Campbell this offseason. On top of that, rookie third-round pick Jalin Hyatt has been impressive of late over in camp catching the ball from Jones.

Jones has said multiple times that he's not going to let any outside noise have a negative impact on him. However, you've got to imagine he's growing frustrated with all of the disrespect that's been coming his way. The best way to silence the critics will be by balling out Week 1 vs. the Cowboys. Hopefully with a strong showing, he'll make Bell eat his words.
