It's been a rough stretch for the NY Giants in terms of first-year playmakers getting hurt in practice. First, No. 6 overall pick Malik Nabers suffered an ankle injury and plenty of hearts stopped when he was limping off the field.

Then, Tyrone Tracy Jr. suffered his serious-looking injury, which is a major bummer for this offense. While Tracy is likely going to be out for a while, the same can't be said about Nabers. Despite missing practice time, the first-round wideout said there's 'no doubt' that he'll be ready to rock for the season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 8.

Malik Nabers is dealing with a minor injury for the NY Giants

This is great news straight from the speedster. Brian Daboll always gives vague injury updates, but it was revealed that Nabers' x-ray came back clean and there was no fracture discovered. With this, yes, he might miss some practice time and even skip the preseason game vs. Houston, but he'll be suited up to open the season come Week 1.

That won't be the case for Vikings first-round pick and former Giants target J.J. McCarthy. The young quarterback has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus and he'll undergo surgery. The exact timeline for when the rookie QB will be back is up in the air, but it will be Sam Darnold time for the Vikes when they visit MetLife to take on the G-Men.

Ahead of that showdown, Nabers is going to slowly but surely work his way back to full health. From the moment his name was announced in the draft, fans have been dreaming of this kid posting 1,000 yards in 2024.

Soon enough, it will be his time to shine and he'll look to live up to the massive expectations placed on him. Right now, some people remain concerned about his bum ankle, but Nabers won't let this small adversity keep him down. The Minnesota defense better get ready for what's coming.
