Malik Nabers refuses to throw Daniel Jones under the bus in postgame interview

Nabers' response was something you'd expect from a veteran.

Now that enough time has passed, anger has been reduced a little bit following the NY Giants 28-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. There's no sugarcoating things here for head man Brian Daboll: the performance was a complete and total mess. The fact that people in the stands were booing Daniel Jones and the offense after two plays tells you everything you need to know.

After the final whistle, rookie wideout Malik Nabers spoke with the media and you could tell he was a bit frustrated with how things went. Who can blame him? However, some fans and reporters on social media are trying to twist his words a bit and claim he called out Jones over what he was seeing behind the line of scrimmage. Really? We don't see things that way. Instead, we think Nabers handled himself in a professional manner while discussing what went wrong for NY in Week 1:

Malik Nabers had a perfect answer when speaking about Daniel Jones

What else could Nabers have said here? He was honest with how he was feeling, but at no point did he take any shots at Jones. He even said that he could have done things a bit differently to try and put himself in a better position for Jones to get the ball downfield.

The Giants worked on explosive plays all offseason and it felt like Daboll was going to be a bit more aggressive in taking some deep shots. That wasn't the case vs. the Vikings, as it felt like the Ferrari was kept in the garage as they say.

Nabers didn't find the endzone in this one, but he still led the team with his five receptions for 66 yards. Big Blue supporters showered him with 'Leeeeeeeeek' chants after his grabs too, which he must have enjoyed. What he didn't love, however, was seeing Minnesota dominate his team in his regular season debut. Next up is a showdown vs. Washington, where Nabers and Jones will hope to connect for some head-turning plays.
