These two teams don't like one another, we don't have to tell you that. Whenever the NY Giants and Washington Commanders face off, there's always going to be some bad blood between the two sides - that's a given.
Such was the case on Sunday at FedEx Field. Commanders quarterback Sam Howell was able to lower his shoulder and power his way into the end zone, but the whistle never went off. Because of this, Xavier McKinney busted his hump to stop him short and wrestle him to the ground. That led to a a big-time brawl breaking out, with multiple ejections:
Crazy sequence here, Howell scores, but McKinney puts him on the ground, and Washington comes to defend their QB -- didn't look like anything crazy, but a fight ensues! #NYG pic.twitter.com/ngumgOkGHC

Cor'Dale Flott and Curtis Samuel were just ejected for fighting in the Giants game
Before we get into the melee, what in the world was McKinney supposed to do here? The fight broke out after Howell was thrown down to the ground, but come on, that was a completely legal tackle from the veteran safety.
The Commanders players took exception to it, however, which led to all hell breaking loose. This is a major bummer for Flott too, as he was having a solid game. Earlier in the action, he was able to force a fumble with a fantastic hit:

That was the second turnover of the game for Wink Martindale's defense, as defensive back Nick McCloud picked off Howell in the first quarter. With Tommy DeVito playing so well too - he has TD passes to Saquon Barkley and Darius Slayton - things were rockin' for the G-Men in the first half.
However, losing Flott for the rest of the game is going to have a negative impact for the rest of this contest. Thanks a lot to the officials for not blowing the whistle when they should have here on that Howell score. That mistake led to Howell getting tossed to the turf, the brawl ensuing and Flott getting thrown out of the game.
