The worst part of the NY Giants Week 2 loss to the Washington Commanders was that it took attention off the unreal performance from Malik Nabers. On the road, Nabers looked like an All-Pro talent, finishing with his 10 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown. His 4th-down drop, however, was downright brutal and it cost his team big time.

Right after the game, Nabers spoke with the media and owned up to his mistake, saying that he felt terrible for letting veterans on the team down. Did Mike Francesa miss that interview? It sure looks like he did, as the popular radio host tossed some absurd shade at the first-round pick. Try watching this clip without having your blood boil:

NY Giants WR Malik Nabers looked unreal against the Washington Commanders

"Nabers had a really good game. He got targeted 18 times, caught 10 balls - had the terrible drop late which maybe will give him a bit of humility which he clearly needs. Listen, Nabers is incredibly talented, but that doesn't mean he has to go off or the Giants have to let him become a fool and become a clown and become a guy who's going to do all kinds of crazy stuff. I hope he just doesn't become that. He hasn't become that yet, but I just see things that make me think he's going to go in that 'me me me' direction. I just hope he doesn't because he's got a world of talent and he can be any kind of player."

Francesa sees things that have him thinking he's going to be a problem for this team? What is it - the fact that, again, he said he let veterans down, or maybe it was after the Week 1 loss where he refused to throw Daniel Jones under the bus?

If anything, the first-round pick has shown outstanding maturity. A video has made its way on social media of Nabers punching the bench in anger after his rough drop against Washington, but come on, that's just a kid who was angry at himself for the game-changing mistake.

It's simply way too early to try and label the youngster as a diva or something. Nabers had a breakout game vs. Washington and more incredible performances are on the way. Some people may be trying to bring him down with the Giants at 0-2 on the year, but it's silly. He's done nothing wrong off the field for this team, period.
