For the 11th time this season, NY Giants fans are shaking their heads after a rough loss for this team. On Sunday, the Giants were in a great spot late to potentially upset the Rams, but they simply weren't able to get the job done.

Unfortunately, plenty of blame goes to quarterback Tyrod Taylor. While Taylor did post some strong throws, he did miss others, none bigger than on a two-point try to put the Giants ahead 27-26. Down 26-25, Taylor rolled out of the pocket and had Saquon Barkley WIDE open. Had he hit him, the Giants would have gone ahead and been in a position to steal the win. Instead, this happened:

Tyrod Taylor missing Saquon Barkley to win the game is tough to watch

Oh Tyrod, how did you let that happen, man? After Taylor missed Saquon, he immediately kneeled over in frustration. He couldn't believe he just let that happen. What's so infuriating about Taylor's game sometimes is that he's pretty dang inconsistent.

He can miss Saquon on something like this, but then toss a DIME to Darius Slayton for an 80-yard touchdown. Seriously, this toss to Slayton was perfect, with the veteran QB putting the ball right on the money.

That touchdown put the Giants right back in this game. However, when things were on the line, Brian Daboll decided to go for the win, but Taylor couldn't connect with Barkley on the two-point attempt. There was late hope on a 54-yard field goal attempt from Mason Crosby, but it wasn't meant to be and the Rams walked off the field with a close win.

With the Giants now at 5-11 on the year, they're looking at the No. 5 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. A new quarterback is needed for this team, one who can make both difficult passes and the simple ones. Taylor is a solid backup, but this miss is one that's going to haunt him all week.
