1. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys were not only the second team to win their Week 1 matchup in the division, but they were the only team to do so by double digits, as they took down the Cleveland Browns 33-17. While their offense stuttered at times, the defense of the Cowboys was absurdly dominant, holding the Browns to three points in the first half and forcing two Deshaun Watson interceptions.
Second-year linebacker DeMarvion Overshown highlighted the Cowboys' defense, racking up 11 combined tackles, one sack, a tackle for loss, and two QB hits. Offensively, Dak Prescott played a very solid game, completing 59 percent of his passes for 179 yards and a touchdown, and everyone else did their thing.
Many people felt very low on the Cowboys heading into the regular season. However, those doubts may be silenced after such a dominating win. Their Week 2 matchup against the Saints should be a good test. If they can dominate again, Dallas will likely remain on top of the rankings. However, a loss could hurt their confidence big time.
