Depending on who you asked Thursday night as far as what they thought of the NY Giants selection of LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the No. 6 overall pick, you might get a variety of answers. Especially if you asked the crowd who wanted the Giants to get a quarterback in the first round.

However, in this case, one particular NFL insider absolutely loved the pick of Nabers for the Giants, as Pete Prisco of CBS Sports gave it a glowing review and a high grade. That's right, Prisco gave the Giants an A+, the highest of all teams picking in the Top 10. Boom.

NY Giants fans are fired up over the Malik Nabers pick in the NFL Draft

Most mock drafts leading into the 2024 NFL Draft had the Giants taking Nabers, and they all had the top quarterbacks being taken before the G-Men were on the clock. Fast forward to the actual draft and the first three picks were quarterbacks. The QB the Giants were tied to the most in Drake Maye ended up getting selected by the New England Patriots at No. 3. So, with not much suspense and surprises before the Giants pick, Nabers ended up falling right into the NY's lap.

While the debates of the Giants needing a quarterback will continue, many felt Nabers was not only the best receiver in the draft, but perhaps the best overall player in the entire draft class because of his abilities and what he can bring to the table as a No. 1 wide receiver. Daniel Jones loved this pick for the offense and understandably so.

Nabers will try to be the first receiver for the Giants since Odell Beckham Jr. back in 2018 to gain over 1,000-plus yards. Nabers had 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns for LSU in 2023, so you can see why an A+ was given to the Giants for the pick of the LSU superstar.

Even if the fan wanting a quarterback didn’t agree with it, they can still try to separate their feelings on the matter. Yes, the Giants may still need to eventually address the QB situation, especially if Daniel Jones can’t stay healthy, but at the same time, the Giants landed a bonafide playmaker that can be a potential game-changing type player for the offense. With that, the common Giants fan should be happy with the pick.
