To start off the week, the DeAndre Hopkins trade rumors are back. The star wide receiver has a lot of people talking, as he mentioned his top five quarterbacks he'd like to make plays for moving forward. Interestingly enough, Josh Allen was the first QB he named.

On that list, though, Daniel Jones was nowhere to be seen. Hopkins also mentioned Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes. In addition to that, Hopkins also said he's looking for stable management, a great defense and a QB who loves the game.

While the NY Giants check those last three boxes, it would feel like a total stunner if Joe Schoen makes a move for the speedster. Fans may want to see something happen, but Big Blue should pass here.

The NY Giants should stay away from a DeAndre Hopkins trade

There's no denying that Hopkins is a beast of a wideout, but it doesn't seem like the Giants would be able to afford him - there'd need to be some major cap movement in order to keep him in town. Not only that, but NY has already brought in several new wideouts to help Jones.

Tight end Darren Waller is a new, stud pass-catcher in town, while people are also excited about Jalin Hyatt and Parris Campbell. In addition to those three new players for the aerial attack, we've got high hopes for 6-4 UDFA WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton, who very well could end up making the 53-man roster.

The Cardinals could release Hopkins too, though their front office would much rather trade him instead. It's up in the air what will happen with D-Hop, but it's looking more and more clear that he won't be suiting up for Arizona in 2023. At the same time, we don't expect him with the Giants either.
