We don't have to tell you that the 2023 season was brutal for the NY Giants. After reaching the playoffs the year before, the hope was that the G-Men and Brian Daboll would be able to take a step forward. Instead, things could not have gone much worse, with NY posting a 6-11 record.
Now, the hope is that the offense in particular can show improvements, with monster expectations on the way for No. 6 overall pick Malik Nabers. Will Daniel Jones or Drew Lock be throwing him the ball come Week 1? We're about to find out, but before that, we're all waiting for the 2024 schedule to be released. When can we expect that to happen?
When will the 2024 NFL schedule be released?
Originally, a lot of people thought that the schedule release would be coming this week, with Thursday as the expected date. However, it's now looking like we may have to wait a bit, with Pro Football Talk believing that things could be dropped next week instead:
This is a bit of a bummer, as we know a lot of Giants fans are waiting for things to drop so they can start making their travel plans for some exciting road games. There are also going to be some electric home games on the way too. Below, we have the breakdown for you:
NY Giants home games in 2024: Cowboys, Eagles, Commanders, Saints, Bucs, Ravens, Bengals, Vikings and Colts
NY Giants away games in 2024: Cowboys, Eagles, Commanders, Seahawks, Falcons, Panthers, Browns and Steelers
Potential primetime games for the NY Giants in 2024
It's tough to guess how many National TV games will be on the way for the Giants, especially after they were downright tough to watch last season. However, there are a few that come to mind without the schedule being posted yet:
A revenge game against Saquon Barkley: The first time the Giants and Eagles meet, we could see it being in primetime, as all eyes are going to be on Barkley. He stunned us all by signing with the Eagles in free agency and revenge will be in mind for both sides.
A holiday showdown against the Dallas Cowboys: No matter if it's on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day, countless eyes are drawn to both the Cowboys and Giants. So, why not pair these to for a holiday matchup the same way that's been posted in recent years?
A Giants-Falcons meeting early on in the season: Kirk Cousins is getting ready for Year 1 in Atlanta. People are still talking about the Michael Penix Jr. draft pick, but it will still be Cousins' show. Perhaps an early-season matchup with Dexter Lawrence causing him issues all night could be on the way?
