With the 2024 NFL preseson getting started with a showdown between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans, the wait is almost over to get our first look at this new NY Giants team. Major changes have been made on both sides of the ball, with guys making plays this summer.

However, it's going to be a whole different game when the G-Men put on the pads against opposing teams. Soon enough, the Giants will take the field for three preseason contests. So, which days should Big Blue supporters circle on their calendars?

The NY Giants will open the preseason against the Detroit Lions

On Thursday, Aug. 8, the Giants will host the Lions for their Week 1 preseason battle. This will come after two days of joint practices for New York and Detroit in East Rutherford. It's up in the air how much we'll see out of Daniel Jones, but this will be his first game action following his torn ACL in Week 9 vs. Las Vegas last campaign.

Then on Aug. 17, the Giants will travel to Houston to take on the Texans and C.J. Stroud at NRG Stadium. This will be a fun showdown and a true test for the young NY defense, as Stroud is one of the more electric QBs in the game.

To wrap the preseason up, a MetLife Stadium battle between the Jets and Giants will be on the way on Aug. 24. This will be a chance for some players to prove to Brian Daboll for the final time why they deserve to make the 53-man roster.

Don't expect to see Aaron Rodgers suit up in this one, as Robert Saleh pretty much said he'll be saving the future Hall-of-Famer until the regular season. Wins and losses of course won't matter in the preseason, but Daboll is going to want to see some key improvements from his guys, no doubt about that.
