Ranking the 5 biggest NFL Draft busts in NY Giants history

4. CB Eli Apple
Following a spectacular career at Ohio State, the NY Giants selected cornerback Eli Apple 10th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. Corner was a need for the Giants at the time and it seemed like New York may have finally found their secondary guy of the future, but as we all know, that's not how it turned out.
Apple didn't start off his career too poorly, allowing 38 receptions on 61 targets for 515 yards and three touchdowns while snagging an interception and breaking up three passes. However, things only went downhill from there.
During his sophomore season, Apple would look far worse on and off the field. Not only did Apple only appear in 11 games, but when he wasn't playing, Apple was getting himself in trouble with the team. Whether it be him tweeting on the sideline of a game in which he wasn't playing, or getting into fights with the coaching staff, Apple simply wasn't mature enough to play in New York.
With that in mind, the Giants shipped Apple off to the Saints five games into his third season for a fourth and seventh-round pick. Since then, Apple has continuously gotten himself into trouble with his inconsistent play and loud mouth. As of this writing, Apple is currently a free agent and it is unknown as to whether or not he will be signed to a roster for the upcoming season.
