It didn't take long for people to start doubting the NY Giants for the 2023 campaign. Shortly after the official schedule was released for teams across the league, the odds for the Week 1 betting action were revealed too.

So, in a Sunday Night Football clash at MetLife Stadium the Giants are favored to take down Dak Prescott and Co., right? Nope. Instead, the oddsmakers over in Sin City have the Giants as 2.5-point underdogs. This has to be a joke.

The Giants are already underdogs for Week 1 vs. the Dallas Cowboys

We understand that the Cowboys have dominated this rivalry in recent years, but this is a totally different NY squad. On offense alone, the additions of Darren Waller, Jalin Hyatt and Parris Campbell have people in East Rutherford fired up.

While Saquon Barkley is currently away from the team due to his contract issues, the belief is that he and Joe Schoen will be able to get on the same page for a new deal sooner than later. Barkley, along with Daniel Jones, will be motivated to record a monster showing against NY's hated rival.

Meanwhile for Dallas, they didn't do enough this offseason to have us shaking in our boots. While Prescott is a strong quarterback, he keeps on letting his fans down when things matter the most in the playoffs. In this primetime tilt, it's time for Jones to step up and post a huge night.

The stands at MetLife Stadium are going to be packed on Sept. 10 for this matchup. Giants vs. Cowboys to start the year? That's exactly what's going down and Brian Daboll will want his men to send a statement to America's Team.

There's no reason for the Giants to be underdogs for this home contest. Look for NY to post a win here. Hopefully after a nice victory, this team will start getting some respect from the oddsmakers.
