The hype is real, Big Blue Nation. One of the biggest takeaways from training camp thus far has been the strong play of new NY Giants tight end Darren Waller. Over the past week or so, Waller has been a matchup nightmare for the Giants defense.
With Waller posting some head-turning plays, the buzz is continuing to grow surrounding his name. Just ask NFL insider Ian Rapoport about that. On Tuesday morning, Rapoport brought up Waller and the fantastic impact he's had for the G-Men as a whole. if anything, this clip should have you even more excited for the regular season to get here:

Ian Rapoport is a big fan of Darren Waller's game for the Giants
"Darren Waller has been a superstar in this league. He's a great story - a guy who is universally respected both for what he does on the field and what he has overcome off the field. It sounds like he's kind of a rockstar in this locker room, the kind of guy that players really look to and respect."Ian Rapoport
From the moment Waller made his way to East Rutherford, he has won over his teammates and the coaching staff. To think that all the Giants and general manager Joe Schoen had to give up for him was a third-round pick remains unreal.
As exciting as his future is with the team, we must also keep in mind that he's only appeared in 20 games over the past two seasons due to injury. Him missing 17 games between the 2021 and 2022 campaigns is definitely a cause for concern.
However, he has looked great in East Rutherford at camp and the Giants will have a plan in place practice wise to make sure they're keeping things balanced. After hearing what Rapoport had to say about the standout TE too, it's hard not to think about what he'll be able to get done in 2023 catching the ball from Daniel Jones.
