Evan Neal had priceless reaction to Andrew Thomas getting his $117.5 million deal

People across the country are still talking about the massive extension NY Giants star left tackle Andrew Thomas just signed with the team. Earlier this week, Thomas put the pen to paper on a five-year extension worth $117.5 million.

There's no question that Thomas deserved this, as he just earned Second Team All-Pro honors for his fantastic work during the 2022 campaign. Right tackle Evan Neal could not be happier for his mentor on the offensive line.

Neal was asked about Thomas' contract while speaking to the media on Friday. Neal said he's thrilled for his teammate, while he admitted that he knew something was coming thanks to the snappy suit Thomas was rockin' while arriving to the team facility:

"I saw him walk in with a three-piece suit, so I kind of knew what time it was. I'm extremely happy for him. He's come a long way. Through all the adversity and hard work, I can't think of anyone more deserving than him. "

Thomas indeed has come a long way, as the former first-round pick was being labeled as a bust after a tough rookie season. However, he took a major step forward in Year 2 and then in '22 he became one of the best left tackles in the NFL.

As for Neal, Big Blue Nation is hoping that he can showcase major improvements after a difficult rookie campaign. Neal worked his tail off this offseason to lose about 10-15 pounds. He's in much better shape and he's at camp with plenty of confidence too.

All in all, the hope is that the NY offensive line can play much better than they did last fall and winter. In order for that to happen, both Neal and Thomas will need to bring their A-game.
