The NY Giants training camp will get started on Wednesday morning and plenty of fans, including myself, are very excited to see how things pan out for players on both sides of the ball. There are several Giants who are expected to show out during training camp, and others who are looked upon not as highly.
These four players have had a rough time during their time with the Giants. This has caused many to lose hope in them. However, I'm hopeful that they prove me wrong in training camp. If so, the Giants could have some big-time players in positions of need heading into the 2023 season.
4. OG Mark Glowinski
It's hard to imagine a 31-year-old guard magically becoming a much better player. However, we're very hopeful that Mark Glowinski proves us wrong and plays at a higher level than he did last season. Considering that the Giants signed him to a three-year deal, he kind of needs to improve to be worth the money he's making.
Last season, Glowinski allowed five sacks and 34 pressures in 614 pass-blocking snaps. While he was considerably better as a run blocker, the Giants can't afford to have such a liability at guard in terms of pass protection.
Unfortunately, if Glowinski doesn't improve, the Giants don't have many other options to replace him. While Josh Ezeudu could be shifted to right guard, it's doubtful that he plays much better than Glowinski. They both have similar problems as they are good run blockers, but poor pass protectors.
The rest of the Giants' offensive line is shaping up to improve at every spot aside from right guard as of now. Hopefully, Glowinski can show that he's still capable of being the consistently solid player he was back with the Colts.
