The NY Giants are getting closer to their preseason opener vs. the Lions and guys are putting on a show in East Rutherford. With some training camp sessions still left, we have started to get a bigger picture of which players have been living up to the hype, and which Giants have been disappointments.
While some names on the Giants haven't been playing as well as we thought they would, others have surprised us with the way they've been able to perform. Here's our look at four players who have been impressing us recently in camp:
4. WR Jalin Hyatt
Throughout the course of the 2023 NFL Draft, many were surprised to see Jalin Hyatt fall all the way to the NY Giants in the third round. While he had his issues, many viewed him as a late first-round or early second-round talent. Despite this, teams apparently weren't as sold on Hyatt as reporters and journalists.
However, 31 NFL teams may have gotten it wrong. It may just be training camp, but Hyatt has been incredibly electric for the Giants and could play a massive role with the team going into the upcoming season. Not only does his speed look as good as advertised, with it being reported that he's reached 24 MPH on the field, but his route running looks as sharp as ever:
If Hyatt continues his high level of play going into the regular season, the Giants could have an absolute monster on their hands in 2023. The track record of receivers with Hyatt's size and athletic traits showcases that he could be a star in this league.
Hopefully, we see Hyatt's strong play continue come time for the regular season. New York has already made massive strides in improving their receivers room, so adding a guy like Hyatt could turn this core from poor in 2022 to exciting for '23.
