Linebacker Bobby Okereke was a tremendous pickup for the New York Giants last offseason. New York signed the linebacker to a four-year deal and he did not miss a single snap for them all season long. During the regular season, Okereke had 149 total tackles, 11 of them went for a loss, 2.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and even two interceptions. He was everything the Giants could have hoped for in his first season with the team.

Okereke is now hoping for an even better season for the Giants in 2024, as he will now be working pass-rusher Brian Burns, who the Giants acquired from the Carolina Panthers not long ago. Okereke will be ready to ball out and he'll be doing so at full health. Believe it or not, he wasn't at 100 percent in '23, as he recently revealed he played late in the season with a broken rib and fractured pinky. Wow:

Bobby Okereke somehow didn't miss a snap for the Giants in 2023

Okereke was a guest on the "NFL Spotlight" podcast and made a shocking admission about his health during his first season playing for the G-Men. He admitted that he was well aware that he had not only a broken rib, but also a fractured pinky, but still fought through the pain.

What is more of a shock is that Okereke did not miss a single snap during the Giants season and put up very impressive numbers while he had those injuries. Playing through injuries is so hard to do, especially playing a sport like football, but that did not faze the Giants' linebacker. He was quite simply, an "Iron Horse" for the team last year.

Now as Okereke enters his second year for Big Blue with hopes that he'll be healthy for the entire season, he could be a lot better than the stats that he put up in his first campaign. It is going to be exciting to see what Okereke does fully healthy this year with a defense that already has the likes of Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux and the aforementioned Burns. The potential is through the roof for Shane Bowen's unit.
