He may only be entering his second season with the NY Giants, but linebacker Bobby Okereke is providing the kind of leadership this team had been missing for quite some time. A defensive force, the inside linebacker is coming off a strong 2023 campaign.

Now, Okereke is ready for even better things this season. While speaking to The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov, Okereke opened up about his goals for 2024. Not only that, but he made it quite clear that he understands the Giants are a team being overlooked in the NFC East. If you ask No. 58, that's the way he likes it:

Bobby Okereke is ready for the Giants to surprise a lot of people this season

"You know, I love it. We're that young, scrappy, pissed off team. So yeah, we're going to surprise some people and we're going to make a great run. "

Go ahead and get us even more excited for Week 1 to get here, Mr. Okereke. In his first year with the G-Men, the 6-1, 235-pounder was a total force in the middle of the field, posting 149 total tackles (92 solo), four forced fumbles and 10 pass deflections.

Plenty of Big Blue supporters were disgusted that he didn't get any Pro Bowl love, but Okereke can use that as motivation for this fall and winter. In the NFC East, the expectation is the Cowboys and Eagles will be neck and neck for the division title, while people can't stop hyping up Washington's potential due to No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels.

The Giants aren't getting much attention as a postseason threat, which was the case in 2022. That season, NY went 9-7-1 and took down Minnesota in the Wild Card Round. Come Week 1, the Vikings are on the menu first and Brian Daboll's men have a chance to send a statement to start the season. This team will be ready to make some noise - the same can be said for Okereke.
