With the way the NY Giants offensive line played last week, fans are desperate for Bobby Johnson's men to post a fantastic showing against the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, the OL as a whole will need to play strong without its best player.

Moments ago, ESPN's Jordan Raanan has reported that the All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas will not be able to play in this contest due to his hamstring injury. With Thomas ruled out for this one, it will be on Joshua Ezeudu to protect Daniel Jones' blindside. Wait, what?

Brian Daboll will start Joshua Ezeudu at LT for the injured Andrew Thomas

According to Giants insider Art Stapleton, this is exactly what will be happening vs. the Cardinals. For a couple of days now, it had been assumed that if Thomas were to be ruled out, that Matt Peart, the swing tackle, would get the start on the edge opposite of Evan Neal.

However, in stunning fashion, Coach Dabes is going to roll the dice a bit and go with Ezeudu as his starter at left tackle. Ezeudu had been pushing for a starting job at guard this summer, but he had never been mentioned at either LT or RT. That's why so many people thought it would be Peart to get the nod.

Peart had his fair share of struggles during the preseason and plenty of fans were calling for him to get cut before Week 1 got here. With him dealing with an injury of late too, Daboll has decided to give Ezeudu a shot with Thomas out.

This feels like it is a pretty risky call from Daboll and Co., but we'll find out soon enough if it pays off for him. The last thing anyone wants to see is Jones running for his life again for the second consecutive week. It will be on Ezeudu to play a major role in that not happening.
