A picture-perfect drive ended like this? NY Giants fans have suffered enough as it is in recent years, but this was NOT what anyone expected to see to open the year. After Daniel Jones drove the G-Men down the field and it looked like Big Blue was going to score early on vs. Dallas, the script was flipped.

The reliable Graham Gano lined up for a field goal. Surely he was going to send it through the uprights right after inking his three-year extension right? That didn't happen. Instead, the Dallas special teams not only blocked it, but they took it back to the house. In the blink of an eye, NY went from potentially going up 3-0, to being down 6-0 thanks to the 58-yard return from Noah Igbinoghene.

The Cowboys returning a blocked FG for a touchdown was deflating

How in the heck does that happen? On third down, the Giants still had a chance to find the end zone, but a terrible snap from rookie center John Michael Schmitz wiped away those dreams. Then Gano took the field and the nightmare ensued.

All you can say is wow right now. Just when it looked like the Giants were going to land the opening jab on the Cowboys, Dallas responded with a haymaker that was downright deflating. The Giants need to overcome this early adversity and get things back on track.

Whenever the Cowboys and Giants face off, you know there's going to be plenty of drama. For once, though, you'd think the Football Gods would let the Giants be on the other end of these kinds of plays.
