NY Giants OT Jermaine Eluemunor just calmed everyone down with injury update
With the terrible luck the NY Giants have had with injuries, particularly up front, you just had to assume that trouble was coming for offensive guard/tackle Jermaine Eluemunor. On the first day of camp, Eluemunor suffered an injury, and he was down on the ground for quite some time.
Eluemunor walked back to the locker room in some pain, but turned down a cart. Thankfully, it looks like the big fella is going to be just fine. The veteran has calmed plenty of worried Giants fans down with his latest update. It's short and sweet, but goodness, it's one people are loving:
Jermaine Eluemunor said he's 'good' after an injury scare at training camp
All it took was two words and a thumbs up emoji from Eluemunor to let us know this is something minor he's dealing with. In case you missed it, the right tackle was in a battle with Dexter Lawrence in the trenches and he caught an accidental shoulder from Sexy Dexy in the stomach/ribs area.
According to Ryan Dunleavy, it's just bruised ribs for Eluemunor and nothing more. We must thank the Football Gods for that news. Eluemunor was slated to be the starting left guard for the Giants this season, but a change of plans arrived due to the Evan Neal setback.
Neal, entering his third year in the league with the Giants, was placed on the PUP list ahead of camp. With that, Eluemunor slid over to the outside. Schoen did say he expects Neal to be back on the field soon, but it's clear that Eluemunor is the favorite to start the season at RT. Would the Giants really move Eluemunor over for a few days? Not a chance.
Luckily, the Giants' offseason addition isn't going to miss a significant amount of time, but it'd be fair if he were to miss a few days. Landing a brutal blow from Lawrence is something we wouldn't wish on even our biggest of enemies.
