3 problems the NY Giants are already dealing with at camp
1. Injury worries for the Big Blue wide receivers moving forward
If there's something that the New York Giants have enough of, it is wide receivers. The team learned that lesson the hard way last season when they lost Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson to season-ending torn ACL injuries. This offseason, they stocked up on wideouts and now truly believe you can never have enough of anything, especially slot receivers.
On Sunday, the Giants activated Jamison Crowder off the non-football injury list and Shepard off the physically unable to perform list; however, Robinson is yet to return and is still recovering from a torn ACL injury in late November. The Giants also have Cole Beasley and third-round rookie Jalin Hyatt with experience in the slot.
Hyatt has had an impressive training camp so far. Over the weekend, word dropped that he clocked in a time of 24 miles per hour on the field. That's out of this world, and it's also creating a ton of buzz around his name in East Rutheford.
While we can expect Hyatt to have an impressive rookie campaign, he will have to continue to develop and still has to prove himself. There are a lot of expectations for Hyatt and this rookie class to succeed in '23.
Even though these are considered problems that the Giants have to address in camp, the team appears to be in good shape to be competitive in 2023. We'll find out just how good they can be once Week 1 arrives.
