NY Giants roster cuts tracker: Live updates before cut day (updated Aug. 27)
The preseason is in full swing and the NY Giants are enjoying some strong and poor moments. There's a lot for Brian Daboll to chew on, as some players are doing themselves some huge favors in trying to make the Week 1 roster. Others, though, are playing themselves out of town.
Come Tuesday, Aug. 27, Daboll and Co. are going to have to trim their group down to 53. This will come not too long after the preseason finale against the New York Jets, which is set for Aug. 24 at MetLife Stadium. It will be the last chance for players to convince Daboll they're worthy. With that said, we're keeping track of all the cuts for you in this piece. Be sure to check back regularly, as this article will consistently be updated:

OL Matt Nelson has been released
According to The Athletic's Dan Duggan, offensive lineman Matt Nelson has been released by the Giants. Nelson agreed to terms with the Giants in March after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Lions.
NY Giants cut 10 more players following the loss to the Jets
Daboll has wasted no time following the preseason finale vs. the Jets. On Sunday, it was announced that the team has parted ways with offensive lineman Marcus McKethan, running backs Joshua Kelley and Lorenzo Lingard, receivers John Jiles and Ayir Asante, defensive lineman Kyler Baugh, linebacker Trey Kiser, cornerbacks Breon Borders and Christian Holmes, and safety Clayton Isbell.
Timmy Horne and Jonathan Sutherland released by NY
These moves aren't surprising, as the G-Men have parted ways with defensive tackle Timmy Horne and safety Jonathan Sutherland. It's unfortunate for Horne, as Daboll announced he suffered a torn Achilles in the loss to NYJ.
Giants cut DL Ryder Anderson and WR Dennis Houston
Dennis Houston was never expected to make the roster, but the same couldn't be said for Ryder Anderson. The young defensive lineman was making noise this summer, but an injury in the preseason cost him a shot at sticking around for Week 1.
