Cornerbacks: Deonte Banks, Cor'Dale Flott, Dru Phillips, Nick McCloud, Tre Hawkins and Darnay Holmes

This position will likely receive a pretty significant shakeup rather soon. With the domino of Stephon Gilmore falling, the market of remaining free-agent corners has been set and the Giants will likely be players looking to bring in an experienced veteran to help bolster this young core.

New York reportedly has roughly $18 million in cap space right now, and with guys like Xavien Howard, Marcus Peters, and others being available, it would be a huge boost to sign someone. As for what the Giants currently have, this prediction is considering Daboll and Schoen working with the best they've got.

No one has looked significantly great throughout the offseason, but these guys have been with the team the most, and have looked the best. Hopefully, though, Schoen pulls the trigger on signing a free agent, as this unit will likely not hold up well without some help come time for the regular season.

Safeties: Jason Pinnock, Tyler Nubin, Dane Belton and Gervarrius Owens

With Jalen Mills out the door, a new one has opened up for a fourth safety to jump in and claim said spot on the depth chart. With this in mind, it seems like Gervarrius Owens is the best option for the defense. Not only has he been with the team the longest, but he's actually looked pretty darn solid throughout training camp and the preseason.

Aside from Owens, the other options are guys like Raheem Layne and Clayton Isbell, who were both signed not even two weeks ago. While a big-time preseason Week 3 performance could shift the tides in their favor, we wouldn't count on it.

The depth is certainly lacking, but the two-headed monster of Jason Pinnock and Tyler Nubin at safety is looking to be pretty solid. Both have good all-around games and can provide a ton for the defense, while Dane Belton can be a coverage specialist on passing downs.

Specialists: Graham Gano, Jamie Gillan and Casey Kreiter

There's not much to say about this, as all three of these guys have their roster spots locked down, and, barring injury, there will be no position battles on special teams. Graham Gano, despite his age, has been one of the best kickers in the NFL over the last decade and the Giants have been lucky that outside of last season, he's been very healthy.

As for Jamie Gillan, he's been shaky at times, and he dealt with some inconsistency issues in 2023. This was disappointing for him, but when Gillan is at the top of his game, he's a real difference-maker for Daboll.
