This would surely pack MetLife Stadium. Later this week, barring a late change, the official 2023 NFL schedule is set to be released on Thursday night. NY Giants fans everywhere can't wait to see who Brian Daboll and Co. will be taking on to open the season.
How about Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets? According to NFL insider Brian Baldinger, he's hearing that the G-Men and Gang Green could end up meeting to open the year. Not only that, but this would be a Monday Night Football showdown as well. This would be amazing!
The Giants and Jets could face off on MNF to open the season
This would be quite the matchup and it would of course result in millions of fans watching from across the globe. As excited as people are for the Giants in 2023, the Jets all of a sudden are going to have plenty of eyes on them now that Aaron Rodgers will be running their offense.
Giants nation would love nothing more than for the Jets and Giants to face off, with Daboll's men taking care of business in primetime. Don't forget that last year when the Giants took on Rodgers and the Packers, NY posted a stunning win across the pond in London.
Jets supporters are walking on water these days with Rodgers in East Rutherford. As we've said time and time again, Rodgers isn't going to be able to fix all of the team's problems on his own - the roster still needs a lot of help.
The same can't be said for the Giants, as Daniel Jones will be taking the field come Week 1 after signing his $160 million contract. Joe Schoen has brought in a boatload of new talent this offseason as well. Folks might assume that the Jets will take down the Giants come Week 1 if these two sides do face off for MNF, but something tells us Jones and others will answer the call and post a win.
