After making it to the NFC Divisional Round during a season with little to no expectations, the NY Giants enter 2023 hoping to take the next step towards becoming a premier Super Bowl contender.
No matter how you slice it, the Giants’ success in Brian Daboll’s first season opened up a brand new can of worms. Coupled with Daniel Jones’ monster extension, Big Blue will be expected to improve upon an impressive 2022. It all starts with their schedule.
On Thursday night, the Giants released their official 2023 schedule and fans are fired up for Week 1 to arrive. Could the G-Men get back to the postseason? We think so. Before the playoffs do arrive, there will be some monster regular season matchups for fans to enjoy. Here's our look at the five biggest ones:
5. NY Giants at Buffalo Bills in Week 6
A homecoming of sorts for Daboll and Joe Schoen, the Giants will travel to Buffalo to face the Bills in 2023. The last time the Giants and Buffalo faced off, the Bills took care of business in MetLife, as the Giants fell to 0-2 on the young 2019 season. Things are much different now than they were then, as the Bills have elevated into one of the best teams in the NFL since that matchup.
The Giants will truly now where they stand in the league if they can keep up with the Bills. Daniel Jones will get to go head-to-head with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Josh Allen, and it would give him a ton of credibility to get a victory over Daboll’s former protege.
The storylines will run rampant for Daboll’s return to Buffalo, and it won’t be pretty if the Giants can’t get up and win a game for their head coach. If the team can’t keep pace with the Bills, they may not be where they want to be just yet. There's a great chance for the Giants to send a strong message if they pull off an upset.
