We are 20 days from the NFL Draft getting started and people can't wait for things to arrive. NY Giants general manager Joe Schoen is on his grind right now checking out prospects. It goes without saying, but the G-Men need to bring in some studs to help out at cornerback, linebacker, wide receiver and the interior offensive line.

While the focus for a lot of fans is the first round, and rightfully so, we haven't forgotten about playmakers who the Giants could take in the second round either.

In their latest NFL Mock Draft, Pro Football focus has cornerback Emmanuel Forbes going No. 25 overall to the G-Men, but they think linebacker Trenton Simpson will fall to pick No. 57. Could Simpson hear his name called by NY in the second round? This would truly be a dream come true.

LB Trenton Simpson would be a huge get for the Giants

""The Giants get their blitzing off-ball linebacker, and it didn’t cost them a first-rounder. Simpson is the most impressive all-around athlete in the linebacker class." "

Michael Renner

If Simpson is still there for the taking at No. 57, Schoen will probably be doing jumping jacks to celebrate being able to land the Clemson 'backer. Simpson, as Renner noted, is one of the best all-around athletes in the class for linebackers. This kid is the real deal and plenty of analysts think he'd be worthy of a first-round pick.

Speaking of first-round pick, Renner thinking the Giants will go with Forbes at No. 25 isn't surprising, as it has been mentioned more than once. If Forbes and Simpson are the top two picks for the Giants, then a wide receiver would surely need to be taken in the third round. Thankfully, Renner has Schoen going with Ole Miss standout WR Jonathan Mingo at No. 89.

Those three guys would be major additions for this squad. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Renner is right with his predictions, especially Simpson.
