With the way he works around the clock, there's just no way NY Giants general manager Joe Schoen is done making moves to improve this team ahead of Week 1. With that said, there are still several solid players looking for a new home in free agency.

For the Giants, there's no question that they still need some depth at pass-rusher behind Kayvon Thiboeaux and Azeez Ojulari. Could someone like Yannick Ngakoue end up making his way to East Rutherford?

That's what Pro Football Focus' Brad Spielberger is hoping for and we'd absolutely love to see this go down as well.

The Giants signing Yannick Ngakoue would be tremendous

"Ngakoue's underlying metrics in 2022 were concerning, with his 9.5 sacks this past season well above the expectation of a player with his pass-rush win rate and pressure rate. That being said, he's registered at least eight sacks in every season of his seven-year career and was a more menacing pass rusher on a per-snap basis from 2017 to 2021. Ngakoue also makes perfect sense in a defensive line unit under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale that is all about rotating linemen in a platoon approach, so he can be a designated pass rusher alongside the young duo of Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari."

Checking in at 6-2, 245 pounds, Ngakoue is quite the specimen in going after quarterbacks. Since entering the league in 2016, the veteran pass-rusher has been fantastic in getting by offensive linemen and putting pressure on a team's signal-caller.

Throughout his career, Ngakoue has suited up for the Jaguars, Vikings, Ravens, Raiders and most recently the Colts in 2022. Last season in the AFC South, Ngakoue posted 29 total tackles and an impressive 9.5 sacks. Since turning pro, Ngakoue has never posted less than eight sacks in a year.

That speaks to how great he is at his job. If the Giants were to sign him, Ngakoue would get rotated in behind Thibodeaux and Ojulari, but there's no doubt he'd be able to make a massive impact whenever his number is called. We've mentioned Ngakoue as a possible option several times. Make it happen, Schoen.
