Practice update now has NY Giants fans worried about Malik Nabers for Week 5
Every single update on NY Giants wideout Malik Nabers is going to be followed closely. In the Week 4 loss to the Cowboys, Nabers got hurt late trying to bring in a 4th-down pass from quarterback Daniel Jones. He was helped back to the locker room and quickly ruled out with a concussion.
That injury came during Thursday Night Football and with the G-Men getting back on the practice field on Wednesday, the hope was that Nabers would have been able to get in a limited session. That wasn't the case, though, as Brian Daboll revealed he was sitting things out. On top of that, Devin Singletary has now popped up on the injury report too with a groin issue. Not good:
Malik Nabers missing practice for the NY Giants has fans worried
On one hand, it's still only Wednesday and there's plenty of time for Nabers to get in some practice time before potentially suiting up against Seattle. The Giants are going to want to take their time with him and not rush him.
At the same time, he suffered his concussion six days ago. It's a bit eye-opening that he's still in the 'early stages' of the protocol, but we should know more about Nabers on Thursday. If he's not able to get on the field then, it would have a lot of us convinced that he won't be able to put the pads on at Lumen Field.
If he's limited on Thursday and isn't showing any negative symptoms, then you'd like to think that he's going to have a good chance to play. Daboll and Co. want to be careful with their elite playmaker, but something tells us it's going to take a lot to try and convince Nabers to stay off the field.
Early on this campaign, he's been unreal for the Big Blue offense. He leads the NFL in receptions, is second in yards and tied for third in touchdowns. The first-round pick has been so much fun to watch. So, will he put on a show again vs. the Seahawks? It's too early to know - things are quite unclear there, but not having him available will be a major blow for Jones if that turns out to be the case.
