We already know Deonte Banks is the CB1 for the NY Giants. The former first-round pick is loving life going to war with Malik Nabers, as the two are making each other better already at training camp. However, who's going to be the other cornerback on the other side of the field once Week 1 gets here?

For now, Cor'Dale Flott is slated to be the CB2 for this team and new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen. Flott has been a bit up-and-down to start off camp, but fans have made it quite clear on social media they don't want him to start. Instead, they want Joe Schoen to bring in someone like Stephon Gilmore or Xavien Howard. Flott has seen these posts, but he's not letting it impact his focus on the field:

With the retirement of Darren Waller, it has created more cap space for Schoen and Co. to work with. Bringing in a veteran cornerback to push Flott for a starting role would make sense, but more depth is certainly needed for the offensive line too.

That's why the Giants brought in offensive guard Greg Van Roten for a recent visit. Reports claimed the Giants were close to signing him, but here we are and Van Roten is yet to put the pen to paper on a new deal. Will that happen soon? Who knows.

For the secondary, cornerback was clearly a focus for Schoen throughout the offseason, but he hasn't really done much to address the position. The Giants recently signed Breon Borders, but he's not the kind of playmaker Big Blue supporters envisioned Schoen would bring in - he has started only six games throughout his career.

People are going to keep calling for a veteran corner to be inked, but Flott isn't worried about that. He's going to keep trying to impress Bowen and Brian Daboll, all while trying to keep hold of his CB2 job as well.
