The pads are on for the NY Giants and playmakers are doing what they do best. While veteran pass-rusher Brian Burns went down with a minor injury during practice, he's still making plenty of noise for this new-look defense and he's not expected to miss a ton of time.

In recent practices, there have been some fun battles between Burns and standout left tackle Andrew Thomas. These are two of the best players on the Giants, period, and the fact that they're matching up against one another is another reason to be excited about camp being here. Take a look at this clip and you can see just how hard these two are working to get better ahead of Week 1:

Brian Burns and Andrew Thomas continue to push each other at practice

Give credit to Thomas for this particular play. At first it looked like Burns was going to blow past him, but then Thomas quickly shuffled his lower body and was able to prevent the pass-rusher from beating him in the rep.

As we mentioned above, the two have had multiple matchups against one another during camp. While Thomas got the W in the clip above, that doesn't mean that Burns hasn't gotten the better of him on different occasions.

Yeah, Burns took Thomas to school on that particular play, but that hasn't been the case each time they've lined up across from one another. At the end of the day, Burns facing Thomas is only going to help the two standouts for when the regular season gets here.

Burns is entering the new season with monster expectations, as he's now one of the highest-paid pass-rushers in the game. Meanwhile for Thomas, he wants to wipe away the rough memories from 2023, which included a hamstring injury which cost him a good chunk of the campaign. When fully healthy, Thomas is one of the best left tackles in the game and he'll be ready to remind everyone of that in '24.
