Lost in the rough 28-10 defeat to the Houston Texans for the NY Giants was the strong play of No. 6 overall pick Malik Nabers. After playing in 12 offensive snaps and not posting a single target against the Lions, things changed in a big way for Nabers in preseason Week 2.

He was targeted by Daniel Jones on the very first snap of the night. Well, we'll go ahead and forget about how that went. However, the first-rounder looked sharp overall, posting four receptions for 54 yards. The highlight of his afternoon no question had to be an acrobatic grab with a Houston defender all over him. You can watch the clip at this link. Does Nabers remind you of anyone there? Yeah, we're talking about the one and only Odell Beckham Jr.

Malik Nabers lived up to the hype in the Giants preseason game vs. Houston

Despite this performance coming in a losing effort, it should give Big Blue supporters some optimism on what's to come from Nabers in 2024. He and Jones are still working on building their chemistry ahead of the season opener.

While Jones looked rough - he even called himself out for his brutal pick-six in the first quarter - having a player of Nabers' caliber is only going to help him shake off some rust, especially early on in the campaign.

It's easy to compare Nabers to Beckham, but we just can't help ourselves. They're two former LSU studs, first-round selections and certified ballers. OBJ was a monster for the Giants and he'll go down as one of the best wideouts the team has ever featured.

Down the road, countless people are hoping the exact same can be said about Nabers, who plays the game with a ton of swagger. We've gotten our first serious look at what this kid can do with the ball in his hands. Only more great memories will be posted from (for now) No. 9 moving forward.
