The NY Giants are now 5-9 and clinched their sixth losing season in seven years. It's definitely a fall from grace compared to last season, as they went 9-7-1 and won their first playoff game since Super Bowl 46. It's been a weird season across the NFL, but especially for the Giants, as they're on their third quarterback in Tommy DeVito, who has taken the league by storm.
With the season feeling over at this point, many have flocked to their favorite mock draft sites and compiled their wishes for the team heading into the offseason. It's an annual thing for NFL fans around this time of year, but there's still a slight chance the Giants' campaign isn't over just yet.
The NY Giants somehow can still sneak into the postseason
You heard that right, the Giants are alive for the playoffs AND a top two draft choice in April. As for the draft, the Giants currently own the No. 6 overall pick. Things would really have to swing in their favor in order to move up to the second pick, which is currently owned by the Patriots. From there it goes Arizona, Washington and finally Chicago.
Basically those teams would have to win out in their final three games while the Giants lose out. Highly unlikely, just like the other side of the spectrum, which is the Giants still being alive for the playoffs.
The Giants' playoff hopes were basically squashed with their loss to the Saints last week. The Rams (7-7) currently hold the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC. Including the Rams, the Seahawks and Saints are also 7-7, while the Packers and Falcons at 6-8 are also ahead of the G-Men.
Sitting at 12th in the NFC, it's a long road for the Giants to reach the No. 7 seed. They still have to play the Rams, but will need a ton more to happen in order to overtake them for the final Wild Card spot. All of this sums up how crazy of a year it's been for the Giants.
