What can we expect from the NY Giants in 2024? It's tough to say, but we do know that this team has loaded up with plenty of strong talent this offseason, including the blockbuster addition of star pass-rusher Brian Burns. The hope is life will be easier for head man Brian Daboll.
Last campaign, Daboll and the Giants went 6-11 and missed out on the playoffs. This came after Daboll was named Coach of the Year in 2022 for leading NY to a 9-7-1 mark and a postseason berth. Entering Year 3, however, some people think Daboll might be on the hot seat.Team legend Tiki Barber isn't here for any of that, as he thinks it's absurd that Daboll's job could be on the line.
Tiki Barber is fully supportive of Brian Daboll ahead of the 2024 season
"It is complete and utter BS. When you think about how well this team played, despite all of the issues, at the end of the season, that’s coaching. There is some excitement that is going to build around here and what Daboll can do with this group of talent on offense, if Daniel Jones is healthy."Tiki Barber
Barber is also in Daniel Jones' corner, as the former No. 6 overall pick is in desperate need of a bounce-back season. Danny Dimes looked awful last year when healthy, which wasn't for a long time: he suffered a neck injury vs. Miami and then tore his ACL vs. the Raiders.
Whether or not Jones can return to his 2022 form will play a massive role on whether or not the Giants can collectively take a step forward. The addition of Malik Nabers will surely help, while an improved offensive line has the potential to do wonders for Jones.
With all of that said, Daboll is going to be the one who takes responsibility for things if the Giants end up playing quite well, or if things go south. Should another losing season end up being posted, countless fans and analysts will be calling for Daboll to get fired, but Barber won't be one of them. If anything, he's still fired up about the future of this team with Daboll in charge.
