3. S Jaden Hicks, Washington State

With Xavier McKinney's contract expiring this offseason, there is a very real chance that the Giants don't want to pay the price that would come with retaining the star player. If they go down this route, Schoen and crew will be back in the market for a safety and could easily look toward the draft to find their new guy over the top.

Hicks may not be the best safety in his class, but he has the chance to be if drafted to the right situation in the NFL. Given new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen's history with developing safeties, there may not be a better fit for Hicks at the pro level.

Through 12 games last season, Hicks racked up 81 combined tackles while allowing 20 receptions on 31 targets for 170 yards and two touchdowns, snagging two interceptions in the process. Based on film, Hicks looks very Julian Love-esque with his run-stopping abilities and the way he's seemingly everywhere on defense.

While at the pro level, Hicks will need to improve in zone, he will have a great mentor if drafted to New York who will be able to develop him into the player the Giants need him to be. Even if it takes time for his zone abilities to get better, having this great of a man-safety is still a great thing to have in the modern NFL.
