Vikings defender expressing pity towards Daniel Jones is a new NY Giants low

You've got to be kidding.

This feels unreal and you know what, we're almost starting to sympathize with NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. In the season-opener, nothing went right for Jones - absolutely nothing. He and the offense couldn't get into any kind of rhythm and he finished the day with two interceptions. His day was made worse with the Andrew Van Ginkel pick-six.

Since then, everyone has been racing to get their shots in on the former No. 6 overall pick. Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard took a different route on KFAN's Power Trip show, saying that he and some of his teammates actually started to feel bad for Jones because of his poor play. Seriously?

Vikings' Jonathan Greenard actually felt bad for Daniel Jones in Week 1

Greenard added that it's his job to be on the other side of fans booing Jones and the Giants, and that he was glad they were. People at MetLife Stadium were furious with the Big Blue quarterback from start to finish. They were yelling at him starting with the second play from scrimmage.

It was the worst possible start to open the season, with Viking defensive coordinator Brian Flores coming up with the perfect plan to silence the NY offense. Brian Daboll called himself out as the team's play-caller, but no one can argue that Jones disappointed in his first regular season game following his torn ACL last fall. The fact that Greenard is taking pity on Jones makes everything so much worse.

In the end, Jones finished completing just 22-of-42 pass attempts for 186 yards and the two interceptions. He was sacked five times by the Minnesota defense, The Vikings dominated this one and they limited the Giants to only six points, the lowest of any team in the league in Week 1. Matter of fact, the G-Men were the only squad to not reach double digits.

Since the defeat, Giants fans have been begging Daboll to bench Danny Dimes and rock with either Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito. Coach Dabes wasted no time saying Jones will remain his starter in Week 2, but it's starting to feel like he's on borrowed time as QB1. Defenses are having their way with him and smiling while they do it. Greenard and Minnesota were able to do just that in the season-opener and his latest comments prove that no one is taking this team seriously.
