Watch Giants HC Brian Daboll lose his mind after Commanders' game-winning kick
The New York Giants are 0-2. Giants fans aren't exactly shocked by the results of the first two weeks but this one did sting a little more considering that the Giants were actually in this game and had a shot to win it.
Head coach Brian Daboll did not take the loss well and was seen slamming down his headset after he realized his team was going to move to 0-2. Not a good look even for a head coach of an 0-2 team.
Brian Daboll was furious after Giants dropped to 0-2
Unlike last week where the Giants got the absolute crap kicked out of them by the Vikings, they had a shot to win this game. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers had an awesome game but his drop on a key fourth-down attempt was hard to stomach, even for Giants fans.
The Giants defense did their part in this game too, holding the Commanders to seven field goals, which ended up being enough to win the game. It was very much a close, but no cigar kind of game for the Giants and Daboll's seat is red hot after this one. He clearly knows it too, which is why he was so angry following the game.
The Giants have dug themselves into quite a hole to start the year but assuming they end the season as bad as they've looked in these two games, they'll have a high draft pick, they can move on from Daniel Jones, and can Daboll. It'll be an entire reset button being hit but it'd be the right move.
Daboll had a great first year as the Giants head coach, helping lead them to the playoffs and a playoff win over Minnesota. Unfortunately, that win did more damage to the organization because it's why they paid Jones and why Daboll keeps getting opportunities.
Daboll's reaction following this loss is how we all felt but the stakes are higher for him. If he doesn't get this thing turned around, he'll be out of a job.
