Where has NY Giants wideout Jalin Hyatt been in the first two games? That's a question everyone has had on their minds with the 0-2 start. Hyatt has been a non-factor and it seems like he's not happy with his lack of involvement for the offense. Things reached a new low when ESPN's Jordan Raanan dropped a report stating that Hyatt told the staff over the summer that if they don't plan to use him, then they should trade him. Whoa.

However, this is all news to Hyatt. While speaking with the media ahead of the Week 3 showdown with the Browns, the second-year speedster said that he never told Brian Daboll or anyone on his staff that he wanted to be traded. Instead, Hyatt passionately said he has a ton of love for Daboll and Joe Schoen, and that he is cherishing the opportunity to play for the G-Men:

Jalin Hyatt denied a report that he asked for a trade over the summer

"No, I didn't say that, I don't know where that (trade rumor) came from. That's false. I love being here. You know, Joe (Schoen), Dabes (Daboll), I got so much respect for them trading up for me and getting me. Whatever that rumor was, it's not true at all. "

Jalin Hyatt on trade speculation

It seemed like Hyatt was due for a breakout season in 2024 for the Giants. After they took him with a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, one they traded up for, the former Tennesse Volunteer showed flashes of being an elite and dangerous playmaker. Unfortunately, Hyatt has been a no-show on offense in the Giants' first two games. That must change.

Early on in Big Blue's season, Hyatt has not posted a single catch, which has been very puzzling for many Giants fans to see. He played just 16 snaps against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 and just 12 last week in Washington. Despite Daboll praising Hyatt during training camp, the results have not been there in the regular season.

Daboll did address to reporters why Hyatt has not been involved for the Giants on offense and it's simply because veteran wide receiver Darius Slayton has been impressive in his eyes two games in. While Slayton has hauled in a total of six catches for 59 yards in '24, a much younger and talented Hyatt has to get more involved.

Even though he did not have a touchdown at all during his rookie season, Hyatt was able to show how dangerous he could be as a receiver. Last season in particular in the Giants' Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots, he set a career-high in receiving yards with 109 and was named the NFL's Pepsi Offensive Rookie of the Week. Hyatt is loaded with potential, but he just needs to get more playing time and targets. He'll keep busting his hump in practice to make sure he's ready for game days. As for the trade rumors, nothing to see there.
