Are you ready for some football? Of course you are. It's been a long spring and summer, but after months of waiting, the NY Giants will be back at MetLife Stadium on Thursday night. The preseason opener against the Detroit Lions is here, with several guys hoping to turn Brian Daboll's head.

As we inch closer to the regular season, youngsters are hoping to do enough this preseason to make the team, while some veterans are looking to prove the front office right for bringing them in. With that said, how can you watch the action on Thursday night if you're not making your way to East Rutherford?

What channel is the NY Giants vs. Lions game on tonight?

If you're going to be at home in front of your television, you're going to want to go to FOX at 7 p.m. ET to see the Giants get things going with the Lions. Streaming options are available, with the list including fubo.tv. You can also watch the game via NFL+ - subscriptions are required for both.

What time do the NY Giants play tonight?

As we mentioned above, it's a 7 p.m. kickoff for the G-Men and Daboll, who are hoping to start the preseason off the right way. Things will be a little different next weekend, as the Giants will take on the Texans on Saturday, with a 1 p.m. start.

Daniel Jones won't be playing against the Lions on Thursday night

We know you might be a little disappointed, but there will be no Daniel Jones in this one. According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, Jones, Malik Nabers and plenty of other starters aren't expected to take the field. This makes sense, as rain showers are expected in New Jersey throughout the night. No need to risk anyone of suffering an injury against Detroit. Nope, it's best to play things safe here since it's still only August and not September.
