There are still some talented NFL free agents out there looking for homes for the '23 season, but it's never too early to start looking at things for 2024. There are several big names who will be free agents, including NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley, Mike Evans and others.
With increased cap space across the board for teams, organizations are going to be looking to spend big starting next March. So, when will the madness begin for everyone to get excited about?
2024 NFL free agency is coming in the second week of March
Things can't get here soon enough, as teams will be able to sign free agents on March 13. However, things will get started on March 11 at 12 PM ET with the 'legal tampering period.' With this, teams will be able to negotiate and agree to contracts with free agents.
From the moment noon ET arrives on that day, general managers are going to start working overtime to try and land some of their biggest targets. For the Giants, they'll surely want to make some improvements for the offensive line, while also potentially going after a WR1 for Daniel Jones.
Barkley will be out of contract, but if he has another big season, the G-Men could place the franchise tag on him once again. However, you never know, Joe Schoen could let him walk and sign with a different team in free agency. Come March 11, we'll start to see some big names agree to head-turning contracts with squads.
