By many indications, John Harbaugh's dismissal from the Baltimore Ravens has caused a mad scramble. Rival clubs with head coaching vacancies, and even some that have the position filled, are doing their due diligence on him.

Many still can't fathom why the Ravens fired Harbaugh after nearly two successful decades, including a Super Bowl victory, and rightfully so. He's been the face of Baltimore football for as long as many can remember, namely New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson took to social media to express his apparent disbelief about the Harbaugh news amid the Giants' well-chronicled connection to the latter. The timing of the brief reaction is ironic, considering the former's imminent departure from New York.

Giants fans can't help but laugh at Russell Wilson's oblivious reaction to John Harbaugh firing

"Crazy world," Wilson wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Not only is he ostensibly struggling to process Harbaugh's unceremonious exit from Baltimore, but this feels like him accepting his seemingly inevitable fate.

On the surface, cutting ties with an accomplished, respected veteran who's won a title sounds crazy, right? Yet Wilson, a decorated champion slated for unrestricted free agency this offseason, finds himself in a near-identical situation. Perhaps this was the rude wake-up call the 10-time Pro Bowler has been dreading, hence his response to Harbaugh getting let go.

Alternatively, it almost sounds like Wilson knows he may miss out on the chance to play with one of the winningest coaches in NFL history. It's early in the hiring cycle, but the Giants have been the most heavily linked to Harbaugh. That must be a tough pill to swallow, especially for a legendary signal-caller who's on the last legs of his illustrious career.

Harbaugh seems to be the Giants' preferred choice to replace Brian Daboll, who was relieved of his duties in November. Oddsmakers consider the ex-Ravens sideline general a considerable betting favorite to land in New York. Meanwhile, Wilson has all but said his goodbyes to Big Blue Nation, knowing the team likely won't retain him.

As of this writing, who knows what the future has in store for Harbaugh or the Giants? Regardless of how their respective journeys unfold, or whether they cross paths, Wilson assuredly won't be part of the picture.
