While New York Giants fans were running through walls and high-fiving one another over the Cam Skattebo selection, it’s fair to assume Russell Wilson felt the same way. On social media, Wilson couldn’t have made it more obvious how he felt about the G-Men adding the Arizona State star.
It was a simple post, but it carried the same energy every Giants fan had watching the pick come in: pure excitement.

Giants faithful and Russ weren’t the only fans of the pick. Longtime Skattebo admirer, NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt, also took to social media to express his feelings. Needless to say, Brandt gave his seal of approval in the only way he knows how—by making it clear Skattebo is destined to dominate the Angry Runs segment in 2025.
LETS GOOOOO 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 https://t.co/sqbISwrnGq

Brandt, who runs the beloved “Angry Runs” segment on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, has been hyping up physical runners for years. Now, he’s got another one to add to the arsenal—and Giants fans should absolutely tune in.
Giants tap into toughness with Cam Skattebo pick
New York has been absolutely dominating the first few rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, and the Skattebo selection kept that trend alive.
After grabbing Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall and Jaxson Dart with the 25th pick, Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll shifted their focus to the backfield. And they didn’t just add another body—they added a bruiser.
Skattebo is definitely a throwback. Built like a fire hydrant (some would say bowling ball, but we're here to deliver a new inanimate object comp) at 5-foot-9, 219 pounds, he brings the kind of rugged, no-nonsense style that Giants fans—and apparently Russell Wilson—love to see. He rushed for over 1,700 yards last season and added more than 600 yards as a receiver, proving he’s far more than just a bruiser between the tackles.
Most importantly, he clearly fits what New York wants to build. He’s reliable enough in pass protection. He has soft hands out of the backfield. He finishes every run like it’s a personal grudge match. Skattebo is the kind of player who will push Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary for real touches right away. But most importantly, he's the kind of player who's going to get the juice back in East Rutherford.
Wilson knows better than most how much a strong run game can change everything. His reaction made it clear: he sees the fit with Skattebo too.
