In his return to MetLife Stadium for the first time as a visitor, Saquon Barkley made life for the NY Giants defense miserable in another ugly loss for Big Blue against the Philadelphia Eagles. In a 28-3 blowout loss, Barkley had his best game yet as an Eagle, as he rushed for 176 yards on 17 carries and averaged over 10 yards a carry.

After containing Barkley at the start of the game and holding the Eagles offense in check in the first quarter, the former No. 2 overall pick showed why he was paid over $37 million in free agency. Straight up, he ran all over the Giants defense and played a role in dropping New York to 2-5 on the season. After his monster game against his former team, Joe Schoen and the rest of the Giants front office must be pretty disappointed. Barkley sent a message with his huge game.

Saquon Barkley looked unreal in his first game against the NY Giants

Throughout this past offseason, there was so much uncertainty and drama about whether Barkley would come back to New York after playing on the franchise tag last season. That drama was on full display when Schoen was seen on Hard Knocks having an intense phone call with the running back about whether he would come back or not.

The show also saw John Mara admitting he would have a tough time sleeping at night if Barkley left for Philly. Well, after the loss, I'm sure that will be the case for Mara and others. Barkley said multiple times he wanted to be a Giant for life, but he didn't get the kind of offer he was looking for from NY.

Barkley is showing that with an elite offensive line, he can still be a special running back and be worth the money he got this offseason. The Giants miss him, while the Eagles are loving life having him put on a show for their offense.
