With the uncertainty surrounding what Joe Schoen and the New York Giants' front office will do at the quarterback position after the Matthew Stafford news, another area Big Blue must address this offseason is wide receiver.
The Giants prioritized bringing in a WR1 for their offense with the addition of Malik Nabers last offseason, selecting him with the No. 6 overall pick. Nabers had 109 catches, 1,204 yards, and seven touchdowns in his rookie campaign.
With veteran wideout Darius Slayton likely leaving in free agency and Jalin Hyatt not developing as the team had anticipated, the Giants now turn to the NFL Draft and free agency to add another pass catcher to their emerging offense, which currently consists of Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson.
If the Giants go the free agency route, they could pursue a veteran like Stefon Diggs, Amari Cooper, or Hollywood Brown to serve as the team's WR2 in 2025.
One prospect the Giants could look at in the NFL Draft is Texas' Matthew Golden. The 21-year-old posted a picture on his personal Snapchat of him rocking a Giants beanie this past weekend at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Could he be hinting at interest in coming to New York?

Should the Giants pursue Matthew Golden at the NFL Draft?
Golden could be the answer for the Giants at WR2, complementing Nabers and Robinson well in New York's wide receiver room. He had 58 receptions, 987 yards, and nine touchdowns this past year, helping lead the Longhorns to a 13-3 finish and a College Football Playoff Semifinals appearance against Ohio State.
Golden also had an impressive NFL Combine this past weekend, finishing with a WR-best 4.29-second 40-yard dash. This will undoubtedly boost Golden's draft stock, pushing him into first-round territory. However, if the Giants decide to trade down or he falls to the second round, Schoen should look into bringing him to New York.

Golden's 4.29 40-yard dash comes after former Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy set the NFL Scouting Combine record a year ago, running a 4.21 in the 40-yard dash. Golden's time is the closest to Worthy's, keeping the record within the Longhorns program for back-to-back years.
The Giants could also look to draft Texas signal-caller Quinn Ewers in the second round and try to reunite the quarterback-receiver tandem in the NFL, similar to what Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase have in Cincinnati.
The Giants still face many important decisions this offseason that will shape the franchise's future, and Golden could play a vital role in developing New York's offense.
