This Bobby Okereke play shows NY Giants players have fully quit on Brian Daboll

This is inexcusable from Okereke.

If you thought things couldn't get worse for the New York Giants this season, they would say, "Hold my beer." On Sunday, they suffered a 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in one of their least inspiring efforts in recent memory.

The Giants decided to bench and eventually release starting quarterback Daniel Jones, replacing him with Tommy DeVito in hopes of igniting their offense. Head coach Brian Daboll reviewed the game tape and was convinced DeVito was the right choice to lead the team toward success. *Laughs out loud.*

So much for that plan. The way Jones was treated weighed heavily on the players, and frustrations within the locker room started to surface. The team was fractured, and it became evident during their humiliating defeat against the Buccaneers.

Postgame comments from Malik Nabers and Dexter Lawrence indicate a significant rift between the Giants' front office and the players, while the performance on the field suggests they have not given up on this regime.

This time, linebacker Bobby Okereke is in the spotlight of shame for showing absolutely positively zero effort in tackling Bucs running back Bucky Irving, allowing him to gain 60 yards. You know it's bad when Okereke isn't trying.

Bobby Okereke's lack of effort on full display against Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This is flat-out unacceptable from Okereke. He's a defensive captain playing in his sixth season for the Giants. He's supposed to be the leader in the locker room. What he's portraying to the other members of the team is it's okay to give up.

Okereke simply has to make an attempt to tackle Bucky Irving. He's a former third-round pick who's amassed 130-plus tackles in the last three seasons. He casually jogs alongside Irving for 60 yards before he lets his teammate make the play at the Giants' 40-yard line.

Irving had a blocker in front of him, but it wasn't exactly a world-renowned lineman; it was Baker Mayfield. Come on, Bobby, what are we doing here? His lack of effort clearly demonstrates how quickly Giants fans have given up on Coach Daboll. The effort or lack thereof shown by Okereke is a reflection on Daboll and Schoen for fielding a losing team.

There is no heart, effort, or fight left in this team. And it shows on Sundays. Luckily for the G-Men, their next game will be played on Thursday.

This Thanksgiving, the New York Giants are set to face off against the Dallas Cowboys at Jerry's World in a matchup that hasn't generated much excitement. Starting quarterback Dak Prescott is out, and backup QB Cooper Rush will take his place. While this game may not be the thrilling primetime showdown fans were hoping for, the DeVito vs. Rush matchup could still spark some interesting moments. Alternatively, it might just be the perfect opportunity for a mid-day Thanksgiving nap before heading back to the kitchen for seconds.
