The New York Giants' 2025 season was a nightmare, mainly due to Brian Daboll. The number of blown leads and the ineptitude this fanbase had to endure were genuinely mind-boggling. It's why the Giants had to fire him, and Joe Schoen wants to hire a no-nonsense coach like John Harbaugh to replace him.
Despite going 20-40-1 as a head coach and being fired after just 10 games this season, Daboll could still land another head coaching opportunity. The former Coach of the Year is set to interview for the Tennessee Titans' open coaching job on Friday, which marks his first interview of this coaching cycle.

If you ask any Giants fan, Daboll has no business being considered for a head coaching job this quickly after his firing. Then again, the Titans are the same franchise that interviewed Matt Nagy and Arthur Smith, so it's safe to say their radar for what Cam Ward needs to succeed is very broken.
It won't take the Titans long to to realize Brian Daboll isn't the answer to their prayers
The 50-year-old has earned some brownie points with Big Blue in recent days because of his willingness to praise both Jaxson Dart and the organization to John Harbaugh. But that doesn't change the fact that aside from 2022, his tenure in New York was a complete and utter disaster.
Daboll's recklessness nearly set back Dart's development on multiple occasions, and he evidently lost the locker room after the Broncos' loss. With that said, he's just a guy who couldn't handle the responsibilities of being a head coach, but he's still a very gifted offensive mind.
It's unlikely Daboll is a serious head coaching candidate just yet, but his track record is fantastic for offensive coordinator jobs. If he's just calling plays and working with a young QB as he would be with Ward, that's a great fit, especially since the Giants traded up for him before the 2025 Draft.
The No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Miami showed flashes of immense potential this season, but poor play-calling held him back. Ward turned a corner down the stretch, but if Daboll's work with Dart and Josh Allen is any indication, he'd thrive coaching someone as gifted as the 23-year-old.
Frankly this this interview could just give the Titans front office a chance to look at Daboll more closely for their OC vacancy and do their homework on some of his red flags. But since he wouldn't be the main man in charge, hiring him could be a low risk, high reward move.
