New York Giants: Roster

At the four letter, Dan Graziano has released his projected roster in a post simply titled, New York Giants’ projected roster.

Now, it’s important to note that between now and September 8th, Giants fans will see about a million of these projections, but that’s just part of the fun of the NFL preseason.

New York Giants: Surprises

As you can clearly see, Mario Manningham didn’t make the projected cut. Now, maybe that’s a surprise, maybe it isn’t, but regardless, his name isn’t among the finalists to make the team. In his place is Corey Washington — the Giants fourth quarter preseason hero that only catches game winning TD’s. Which is impressive considering the Giants were down 26-0 in the fourth quarter of the Colts game.

Yet, Corey Washington still somehow got the job done. Meanwhile, Mario Manningham has been targeted four times and has only made one catch for 17 yards in the Hall of Fame game. This is a conflicting situation, as Mario helped the Giants win a Super Bowl just a few seasons ago… but that’s life in the NFL.

Elsewhere on the roster, Dan has Ryan Nassib getting the back-up QB job. No surprise there.  Really looking up and down this projection, there really aren’t any huge shocks, as the Giants have a lot of areas on the roster where they could still use an upgrade. Look for this team to make some additions in the coming weeks as 31 other teams take the axe to their 90 man rosters, sculpting to their own list of 53.
